Some interesting education/psychology books have come out recently or are due soon:

- Powerful Learning: What We Know About Teaching for Understanding - See also this summary by the authors on Edutopia.
- International Handbook of Research on Conceptual Change
- John Clement, physics education researcher, has a couple of books out this year: Creative Model Construction in Scientists and Students: The Role of Imagery, Analogy, and Mental Simulation, and Model Based Learning and Instruction in Science.
- Threshold Concepts within the Disciplines by Land, Meyer, & Smith
- Supersizing the Mind: Embodiment, Action, and Cognitive Extension by Andy Clark. See also a slew of other recent books on embodied cognition by Raymond Gibbs, Evan Thompson, Alva Noe, Mark Johnson, Shaun Gallagher, Rolf Pfeifer, and others.
- Researching History Education: Theory, Method, and Context by Levstik & Barton. I particularly found helpful another book of theirs titled Doing History.
